And yet, the drama is too enchanting for us to avoid it completely. They conspire against each other, constantly bicker and also fall in and out of love with one another every two episodes. Every year, the contestants set a new low with their IQs and general socially acceptable behaviour. Known as the quest for love, fame, and power, this show is the epitome of stupidity.
The cast is hella good looking and honestly, we don’t mind the mirch masala too much. It’s ‘extra’ on so many levels that it becomes unbearable to watch sometimes but it also has been one of the most flamboyant and glam shows on Indian TV. The modern-day rendition of the age-old Icchadhari Naagin drama that Indians love so much, Naagin is a slap in the face of science, VFX, and logic. And yet, it's been running on TV for the past 12 years! Jethalal and wife do get on our nerves a lot but let’s just accept it for once that they can be hilarious at times. This loud and brutally annoying stereotypical portrayal of a middle-class housing society in Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is simply unbearable.
